Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt is a single malt whisky distilled and matured at the Miyagikyo distillery, the second distillery of Japanese whisky producer Nikka Whisky Distilling in Sendai, northern Japan and built in 1969. Nikka Whisky was founded by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. Inspired by Scotch whisky, he decided to dedicate his life to whisky production. Nikka Whisky, which owns two distilleries: Yochi and Miyagikyo.
