
It is made from a combination of wormwood, fennel flowers and green anise, and was originally served with cold water, which was poured onto a sugar cube placed in a slotted spoon and set on top of the glass in which the absinthe had previously been served neat.
Nowadays it is used in countless cocktails and mixed drinks as well as in some cooking recipes.
Black in colour. On the nose, notes of wormwood and green anise. On the palate, powerful, full-bodied, with notes of red fruits and liquorice.
