Botran Aged Rum 8 years It is made using a slow and laborious process created by the Botran family, who came from Burgos to Guatemala. They designed a unique style over the years, creating complex rums with a long finish and subtle notes. This drink is a true pleasure for all the senses.
One of its main qualities is the cultivation of sugarcane varieties highly valued for their sugar concentration. The concentrated juice, called virgin honey, is obtained from the first pressing of this very special product. Aged Botran rums are distilled from it, which are made from the residue of sugar processing, i.e. molasses.
Botran rums, which have a universal passport and global citizenship, rest in barrels that have previously been aged in American whiskey, sherry and port. Some are subjected to the power of fire to cause the wood to release aromas such as vanilla, cocoa, nuts and fruit.
Ron Botran Añejo 8 Años is aged under the solera system in the mountains of Guatemala. For this purpose, American white oak barrels that previously contained whiskey, toasted barrels and others that previously aged sherry wines are used.
