Tasting note: The Valbuena red wine has a shorter ageing period than the Vega Sicilia Único. It is a wine that comes from slightly younger vines and, in its composition, it mainly contains Tempranillo and more Merlot than Cabernet Sauvignon. It has the cherry-garnet colour with an orange rim from its older brother, the ethereal expression of its alcohol content and the accent of its excellent oxidative evolution, the result of well-seasoned oak, a characteristic feature of the firm's reds. Its own personality is highlighted by the memory of its varieties, with a hint of ripe red fruit. On the palate, it has a leaner structure than the Vega Sicilia Único but with the complexity of the wine-fruity association.

Pairing: Valbuena 5º, the youngest wine from Vega Sicilia, goes well with soups and vegetable dishes such as porrusalda, ratatouille with egg or green beans with foie, poultry such as pularda or capon, grilled meats, hare cibet, meat stews and casseroles, rice with vegetables, or with lobster, roast lamb or in a stew.
